Things to Avoid During Pregnancy

There are many things you should avoid during pregnancy. When in doubt, consult your physician. No question, is a stupid question.
You should avoid x-rays while pregnant. High amounts of radiation can cause miscarriage or birth defects. You should always discuss your pregnancy with the doctor who ordered the x-ray. It is important for them to know that you are pregnant.
Another thing you should avoid is the liter box. Cat feces can contain the protozoan that causes toxoplasmosis. It can cause harm to your fetus and result in brain damage or even blindness.
Here is a list of foods that you may not have known could be harmful to you while you are pregnant:
Swordfish, Tuna steaks, shark, and many other large fish-
WHY: These fish contain high levels of mercury
Raw or undercooked meat-
WHY: Could cause Toxoplasmosis, a parasitic disease, and toxic form of the E. coli bacterium
Raw eggs-
WHY: Salmonella
Unwashed vegetables-
WHY: Could cause Toxoplasmosis, a parasitic disease, and toxic form of the E. coli bacterium, Listeria or Salmonella
Aspartame-
WHY:Contains phenylalanine
Caffeine-
WHY: Linked to miscarriages in the first trimester
Alcohol-
WHY: Has been associated with birth defects
Cigarettes-
WHY: Can cause miscarriage, premature birth, and low birth weight
Drugs-
WHY: Can interfere with fetal grouth and brain developement
